C-DAC Bengaluru (Formerly NCST) is an autonomous society, involved in Research & Development, under the administrative purview of Department of Information Technology , Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. C-DAC has its offices in Mumbai (Juhu, Nariman Point, and Kharghar) and Bengaluru (Electronics City and Visvesvaraya Tower).
About CCA
The Information Technology Act, 2000 provides for the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) to license and regulate the working of Certifying Authorities(CA). The CAs issue Digital Signature Certificate to the subscribers. The CCA certifies the public keys of CAs using its own private key, which enables users in the cyberspace to verify that a given certificate is issued by a licensed CA. For this purpose it operates, the Root Certifying Authority of India (RCAI).
